Ready2Green Bayelsa is a 'Green4Ward Bayelsa' climate-smart development initiative created to activate Bayelsa Eco-Citizens to accelerate community-based low carbon impact investment programs that profit the people and theplanet.

This initiative is designed to deploy Real-time Intergenerational Green Growth Mechanisms that drive net-zero climate positive opportunities through people-centric market driven eco-policy impact platforms to guarantee the first bankable Circular Economy and Fiscal Efficiency Strategy for Sustainable Development in Bayelsa State.

Ready2Green Bayelsa prioritizes and amplifies citizen-driven climate action as the most scalable approach to ensuring low-carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive economies.

The program prioritizes health of the planet and of the people, and regards these as interlinked. And brings attention to the fact that the green economy is interlinked with circular economy, encouraging the need for a shift to reduce consumption of natural resources to sustainable levels. As an inclusive economy incorporates and embraces modern models of economic development whose objective is to create prosperity within planetary boundaries.

Ready2Green Bayelsa focuses on three major aspects of Green Economy Development - environmental responsiveness, resource efficiency, as well as community and cultural sensitivity.

  • Environmental responsiveness involves respecting the intrinsic value of nature and minimizing damage to the ecosystem.
  • Resource efficiency involves the use of fewer resources to conserve energy and the environment.
  • Community and Cultural Sensitivity involve recognizing and accepting the unique cultural values that each community contributes towards development.

This Green4Ward Bayelsa initiative is powered by a Social Action Sustainable Impact Mobility Marketplace Strategy that Engages, Educates, Empowers and Employs over 80,000 young, resourceful Eco-Citizens across 8 LGAs with Eco-Marshalls jobs. Incentivizing 800,000 eco-volunteers, awarding 8,000 Eco-nnovation grants, launching 8 eco-tourism & heritage festivals, while securing rural energy efficiency solutions through sustainability investment partnerships that foster Climate Justice, ensure Climate Finance and Ecosystem Conservation in Bayelsa State
